❓ FAQ
Does withdrawing PF affect my loan limit?
Yes. In most cities the PF loan limit is tied to your account balance (balance × 10-20), so withdrawing reduces the balance and lowers your limit. If you plan to buy a home soon, avoid withdrawing or keep enough balance for the loan.
How much PF can I withdraw for renting?
Tenants without a home can withdraw monthly; caps vary by city: Beijing 2,000 CNY/month, Shanghai 3,000 CNY/month, Shenzhen up to 65% of that month's contribution, Guangzhou 700-1,500 CNY/month. No rental invoice is needed — a no-home proof is enough to apply.
How do I withdraw PF after resigning?
Local residents: the account usually must be sealed for 6 months without a new job before a full withdrawal. Non-local residents: once sealed, they can apply to close the account and withdraw in full (some cities removed the residency restriction and unified it to 6 months). After withdrawal the PF account is closed; resuming work requires opening a new account.
Can PF be withdrawn to repay my commercial loan monthly payment?
Yes. Apply for "monthly PF offset repayment" or "annual withdrawal to reduce principal", and the PF account transfers funds directly to repay your commercial housing loan. Some cities also allow withdrawing PF to repay housing loans of direct relatives (spouse, parents, children).
Can PF be withdrawn for renovation?
Most cities have abolished renovation withdrawals. A few still allow withdrawal for major repair of a self-occupied home (a dangerous-building appraisal report is required; ordinary decoration does not qualify). Check your local PF center's website or the 12329 hotline for the latest eligible scenarios.
